How do I register with a scholarship code?

  1. Select the Early Registration Fee of $375. Do not select pay by check.
  2. Put the scholarship code in the Enter Promotional Code section and select Apply code.
  3. If you need help locating your scholarship code from the scholarship award email, please email [email protected].
  4. If the form requires you to pay on the confirmation page, please ensure the code has been applied and you did not select pay by check.
  5. If you are awarded a scholarship after registration opens and register and pay, you will not receive a refund, and your scholarship will be given to someone on the waitlist. 

Who can attend the conference?

The Georgia Commission on Family Violence Annual Conference is a professional training event. Conference attendance is open for: certified Family Violence Intervention Program providers and facilitators, including those in training; staff of agencies providing direct services to victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault, such as first responders; child advocates or service providers; active law enforcement officers; and licensed attorneys seeking professional learning credits for licensing or certification. Can I receive a refund?

Conference registration payments can be refunded by request in writing no later than August 8, 2025. Cancellation requests are subject to a $25.00 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellation requests received after the cancellation deadline.  

When you submit a request to cancel registration, please include the name, phone number, and email address used to register. Additional paperwork may be required before GCFV can process a refund payment. The registrant is responsible for promptly returning any requested paperwork to receive a refund. Send cancellation requests to [email protected]

Please be aware that if a scholarship is awarded after an attendee has paid the registration fee, the scholarship award will be forfeited and allocated to another person on the wait list. A refund request will not preserve the scholarship for the registration once paid.

What if the event is cancelled? 

GCFV reserves the right to cancel this conference due to a severe weather event or other unforeseeable circumstance that would make the event non-viable. If GCFV cancels the event, the conference registration fee will be refunded. Registration fees will automatically be transferred if the conference is postponed, and no further action is required. However, GCFV will provide details on the process and deadline for requesting a refund.

Can the temperature be adjusted in the convention center rooms?

No. Convention center room temperature settings are fixed and cannot be adjusted by GCFV or conference attendees by request or otherwise. Conference attendees are strongly encouraged to dress warmly, such as by bringing a sweater or jacket, to stay comfortable during sessions in the convention center.

Are hotel accommodations included in the registration fee?

Hotel accommodations and travel expenses are NOT  included with the conference registration fee. GCFV will not cover or refund travel costs; attendees are responsible for their own travel. Will meals be offered at the conference?

Yes. Breakfast is provided on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Breakfast selections may include buffet style or Continental. Lunch will be provided on Monday and Tuesday only. Snacks will be available Monday through Wednesday. Please follow the agenda for times and availability.

Dietary restrictions must be specified during conference registration. GCFV cannot guarantee menu accommodations for dietary restrictions that were not provided in advance. If you need to notify GCFV of any dietary concerns after registration, please contact [email protected] no later than August 8, 2025. 

What continuing education credits can I receive? 

GCFV is currently applying for continuing education hours with several licensing and accreditation boards. As approvals are received, details about available credits will be provided. The conference manual and app/website will contain further instructions on obtaining these credits.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance for continuing education credit?

Yes. GCFV provides attendance certificates based on participation in plenary and workshop sessions. While certificates are proof of attendance, hours are verified by check-in reports sent to continuing education providers. To receive a certificate, please note the following steps:

  • Sign in to each session you attend as instructed.
  • Complete a session evaluation for each session attended.
  • Finish the overall conference evaluation at the end.

Session attendance is verified through sign-ins and completion of workshop surveys. To receive your attendance certificate, you must also submit the final overall conference evaluation.

***Please note: Once the final evaluation is completed, there will be a link to download your certificate of completion. Certificates of completion will not be emailed to attendees.

You can find this code in the conference registration confirmation email or by signing into the Conference website or Mobile App. You can also bring a printed copy of your QR code, instead. 

Can I register or pay to attend the conference on-site? 

All conference attendees must be registered and paid before the conference. No on-site registration or payments will be accepted under any circumstances. The deadline for registration is August 17, 2025. Visit gcfv-conference.com to register.

I received a scholarship, and if I do not attend, can I use it for the 2026 conference? 

No. Scholarships are only awarded annually and are not transferable to the next year. If you can’t attend the conference, please cancel your registration by August 8, 2025, by contacting [email protected]. Scholarship recipients who fail to cancel and do not attend the conference may be ineligible to receive a scholarship in the future. 

How long will the website content be accessible to attendees after the conference? 

Select sessions and content from the conference will be available on the app and website until December 31, 2025. Recorded workshops are indicated on the conference agenda and can be accessed through the conference app or website. A downloadable conference manual is also available throughout the conference website.
