650+ Gather for the 28th Annual Family Violence Conference in Athens

ATLANTA - The Georgia Commission on Family Violence (GCFV) will host its 28th annual Statewide Family Violence Conference at the Classic Center in Athens, Georgia. The conference begins Sunday, September 25th and runs through Wednesday, September 28th. The theme of this year’s event is Widening the Lens: An Inclusive Response to Family Violence.

GCFV Presents Kristy Carter with 2022 Gender Justice Award

ATLANTA -  The Georgia Commission on Family Violence (GCFV) recognizes leaders in social justice who work for the betterment of women in Georgia through the Gender Justice Award. 

This year’s Gender Justice Award recipient is Kristy Carter.

The Georgia Commission on Family Violence (GCFV) has released Male Involvement in Family Violence Incidents. The data in this report examines the roles of those involved in family violence incidents by gender in Georgia from 2016-2020.

State Commission Releases Analysis of Family Violence in Georgia, Compares Community Responses Relative to Local Population

The Georgia Commission on Family Violence (GCFV) has released Family Violence in Georgia: A Comparative Analysis 2013-2017. The report evaluates family violence response through the lens of population density, allowing for comparison between similar and dissimilar areas of the state. The scope of the problem, the importance of arrests, abuser access to firearms, and protective measures are highlighted.
