GCFV is seeking a Family Violence Coordinator to support family violence intervention programs and community task forces across Georgia. This role serves as a key liaison, providing coordination, technical assistance, and training to strengthen local and statewide responses to family violence. The ideal candidate is highly organized, an effective communicator, and experienced in training or facilitation. This position plays a vital role in supporting systems-level efforts to prevent and address family violence statewide.
Job Summary:
The Family Violence (FV) Coordinator at the Georgia Commission on Family Violence (GCFV) works directly with family violence intervention programs and community family violence task forces, serving as the agency’s liaison responsible for planning, managing, and facilitating GCFV’s core duties for these programs. The FV Coordinator provides direct support in creating and developing new task forces, as well as ongoing technical support, guidance, and training for task forces across the state.
This position oversees the Family Violence Intervention Programs (FVIPs) compliance and certification process for providers and facilitators throughout the state. The FV Coordinator's other duties include coordinating, scheduling, and facilitating training programs for FVIP providers and facilitators in accordance with the rules governing FVIPs. The FV Coordinator must perform these responsibilities under general supervision and fully support GCFV in managing and coordinating the services and programs of community task forces and intervention programs. The ideal candidate possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, experience with training and presenting, is task-oriented, and well-organized. Demonstrable skills or certifications related to project coordination or management, quality control or compliance, and training facilitation are preferred.
The FV Coordinator must be willing and able to travel statewide up to 40% of the time. This is not an entry-level position; relevant experience is required. Teleworking and flexible work schedules are available.
Entry Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND five (5) years of relevant work experience, or at least two (2) years in a lower-level Social Services Program Coordinator 3 (SSP032) position or an equivalent role in victim services.
● Valid Georgia driver’s license and ability to travel statewide.
● Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND three years of related experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role within a related field.
● At least two years of work or volunteer experience with Family Violence Task Forces or Family Violence Intervention Programs (FVIPs).
● Minimum of two (2) years in domestic violence, victim, or offender services work.
● Strong skills in organizational management, oral and written communication, and training coordination.
● Project management training, certification, or experience is highly preferred.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: The Family Violence Coordinator holds broad responsibilities and acts as the state's expert resource for Family Violence Intervention Programs (FVIPs) and Family Violence Task Forces. The general duties of the FV Coordinator include:
- Supporting community family violence task forces and FVIPs with technical assistance; helping develop new task forces and FVIPs in judicial circuits where they are not yet established.
- Overseeing the Commission’s FVIP and task force division, collaborating with external partners to plan, manage, and execute their roles locally.
- Performing compliance audits and administering certifications for FVIP providers and facilitators.
- Coordinating, developing, and/or facilitating training for FVIP providers, facilitators, and task forces in partnership with other GCFV staff and external partners, in accordance with agency rules governing FVIPs.
- Developing, reviewing, and editing GCFV-facilitated and approved external partner training materials for FVIPs and task forces to ensure they align with approved intervention curricula and incorporate current trends and developments in family violence intervention.
- Consulting with GCFV leadership and staff to manage the development and preparation of communications related to FVIPs and task forces, including website management, agency newsletters, training calendars, registration, and announcements.
- Participating in the planning and development of GCFV's annual statewide conference on family violence and sexual assault.
- Serving as a liaison for GCFV with external partners such as FVIPs, task force leadership, agency contractors, probation officers, victim liaisons, compliance officers, contracted training facilitators, and other governmental and nongovernmental stakeholders, as appropriate.
- Maintaining and regularly updating the Task Force and FVIP directories and webpages.
- Facilitating strategic planning sessions for task forces.
- Attending community awareness events across the state as needed.
- Communicating regularly and effectively with FVIP providers, facilitators, and task force leaders to share updates and address any issues.
- Conducting an annual survey of task forces to gather data, with results published in an annual report.
- Processing FVIP certification and recertification applications and collecting monthly fees.
