Turning Points: A Nonviolence Curriculum for Women
This training has been approved by the Georgia Commission on Family Violence for 12 FVIP hours.
The Turning Points curriculum was developed by late Ellen Pence from Duluth Abuse Intervention Project and Laura Connelly and Melissa Scaia, M.P.A., of Advocates for Family Peace (AFFP). This training is an educational program for women who use both legal and illegal violence against their partners. Its focus is on helping women understand the connections between the violence they experience and the violence they use.
Registration: Seating is limited. Priority will be given to certified FVIP facilitators in Georgia and FVIP facilitators in training in Georgia. Registration will not be complete until we receive a check from you in the correct amount owed.
Cost: The cost for certified facilitators and facilitators in training in Georgia is $125. The cost is $250 for all others.
CEUS: This training is approved by GCFV for 12 FVIP hours.
Curriculum: A copy of the curriculum is NOT included with registration. Participants may pre-order the curriculum at a discounted rate of $350. Please mark this in your registration and GCFV will notify Turning Points of your order. You will be required to bring a check to the training to pay for the curriculum.
Lodging: A block of rooms is available at Holiday Inn Express Atlanta-Emory University, a 15 minute drive from the training site. Rates of $141.99/night + tax are available under the code "GA Commission." A continental breakfast buffet is included in the reservation. Reservations must be made by March 24th, 2019.
