In our efforts to hold participants accountable as facilitators, we may unintentionally alienate individuals and inhibit the process of change. However, we may also run the risk of colluding with participants in our efforts to keep them engaged and participating in the process. In this training, we will explore ways to establish an environment that allows the facilitator to hold participants accountable and avoid collusion while encouraging men to learn, grow, be vulnerable and explore their own humanity. We will also focus on the socialization of men, its role in creating a culture of violence, and ways men can take responsibility for their abusive behaviors while also identifying and rejecting ways socialization has served to separate men from their humanity.
