This training program is designed to assist the investigator in a better understanding of trauma and response, as well as abusive behaviors. Topics during Family Violence Investigations will include training on the neurobiology of the brain with regard to the impact
on victim behavior, investigation, and interviewing. Officers will gain the skills to investigate domestic homicide cases using the continuum of violence scale and family violence dynamics principle.
