The Georgia Commission on Family Violence is pleased to share an upcoming training hosted by the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC). 

Who Should Attend: Any Public Safety Officer who may respond to a Family Violence call.

This training program is designed to assist the investigator in a better understanding of trauma and response as well as abusive behaviors. Topics during Family Violence Investigations will include training on neurobiology of the brain with regard to the impact on victim behavior, investigation, and interviewing. Officers will gain the skills to investigate domestic homicide cases using the continuum of violence scale and family violence dynamics principle. This course is in compliance with the Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.) 17-4-20, O.C.G.A. 19-13-1, and O.C.G.A. 16-5-20.
