Task Force Leadership Academy
GCFV's first Task Force Leadership Academy, a two-day training opportunity for Family Violence Task Force Leadership.
GCFV will host the first Task Force Leadership Academy, a two-day training opportunity for Family Violence Task Force (FVTF) Leadership. The Domestic Abuse Intervention Program (DAIP), creators of the Duluth Model and the Power and Control Wheel, will be training FVTF Leadership on creating coordinated community responses (CCR) to domestic violence, as well as strengthening their current community response to domestic violence. This is a great opportunity for Task Forces to learn about different CCR methods and take them back to implement in your communities.
The CCR known as the Duluth Model won the Gold Award for prioritizing the safety and autonomy of survivors while holding perpetrators accountable through community-wide coordinated response, including a unique partnership between non-profit and government agencies. This training emphasizes a multidisciplinary coordinated approach to domestic violence: participants will work with a team of practitioners to explore the CCR concept, develop a common understanding and framework from which to respond to intimate partner violence in their communities, and develop policies and response protocols. It is ideal for those wishing to create a coordinated community response and for those who want to strengthen their current community response to domestic violence.
Registration: This training is free. Seating is limited. We guarantee a spot for at least two representatives per family violence task force. Please contact [email protected] to inquire about registration and to be placed on a waiting list.
