2024 Annual Conference Award Nominations

The Georgia Commission on Family Violence would like to acknowledge outstanding work being done, by individuals or groups, in the movement to end family violence. If you know of anyone who would be a great recipient of an award, please submit a nomination. The awards presented at the conference are listed below. Nominations will be accepted until July 12, 2024 and the award recipients will be notified by July 26, 2024. 

Catalyst for Change Award 

The Catalyst For Change Award is an award that recognizes exceptional dedication and commitment of a Family Violence Intervention Program (FVIP) provider or facilitator who continues to go above and beyond in their communities. These individuals are honored for not only their innovative approaches and relentless dedication to holding offenders accountable. This prestigious honor celebrates outstanding FVIP providers and facilitators who have demonstrated unparalleled efforts in supporting participants and fostering positive change within their communities.

Georgia Family Violence Task Force Member of the Year Award

The Georgia Family Violence Task Force Member of the Year Award recognizes an individual whose work to end domestic violence in his/her community is truly outstanding. The Task Force Member of the Year consistently rises above the call of duty, and goes beyond what is expected in their work for survivor autonomy and safety as part of a coordinated community response.

Georgia Family Violence Task Force of the Year Award

The Georgia Family Violence Task Force of the Year Award recognizes a Family Violence Task Force that serves as a model for grassroots community organizing. The Task Force of the Year represents a cohesive group that works consistently to provide an innovative approach to a coordinated community response to address the problem of domestic violence in its community.

Gender Justice Award

The Gender Justice Award is presented to leaders in social justice who work for the betterment of women in Georgia. Recipients of this award are chosen based on their history of increasing safety for victims and survivors of domestic violence, enhancing accountability of batterers, and making systemic changes to laws in Georgia – all in order to eliminate gender inequality.

Moving the Work Forward Award

The Moving the Work Forward Award has been presented to organizations and individuals that are innovative in their approaches and actions to ensure all victims of domestic violence have the necessary resources to live free of violence in their homes.

Responsible Coverage Award

The Responsible Coverage Award recognizes and celebrates journalists or media outlets that demonstrate leadership in responsibly covering the issue of domestic violence in a way that furthers the goal of ending intimate partner violence across the State of Georgia.
