Gender Justice Award

The Gender Justice Award is presented to leaders in social justice who work for the betterment of women in Georgia. Recipients of this award are chosen based on their history of increasing safety for victims and survivors of domestic violence, enhancing accountability of batterers, and making systemic changes to laws in Georgia – all in order to eliminate gender inequality. 

The Gender Justice Award recognizes a prominent individual for their dedication, determination, and compassion who has advocated for change in the state of Georgia on behalf of victims of family violence.  The award is given annually at the Georgia Commission on Family Violence Annual Statewide Conference.  

The criteria for the award are as follows:
The nominee has made significant contributions to the betterment and well-being of victims of family violence.
Through their advocacy efforts, the nominee has demonstrated competent leadership and a steadfast commitment to creating equity and tackling the many issues facing victims of family violence.

The awardee will be notified by August 31, 2023.
