SUMMARY:FVIP Basics Training
DESCRIPTION:**Location subject to change due to space capacity** \n\nThere
  are several new training requirements for Certified Facilitators and indi
 viduals seeking Facilitator Certification under the new FVIP Rules. Please
  review the Rules to familiarize yourself with the new requirements.  \n\
 nFVIP Basics Training\n\nThe Georgia Commission on Family Violence will of
 fer the 3-Day FVIP Basics training 3 times a year. This training is open t
 o all Certified Facilitators\, and is required for all Facilitators in Tra
 ining. The training is free and provides FVIP continuing education hours. 
  \n\nFacilitators in TrainingAttend Day 1 or all 3 Days to fulfill your 6
 -hour or 20-hour requirement GCFV-provided training requirement. Facilitat
 ors in Training MUST complete the first day of FVIP Basics before beginnin
 g any other facilitator certification requirements.  \n\nCertified Facili
 tators Attend Day 1\, Day 2\, or Day 3 for FVIP continuing education requi
 rements. Certified Facilitator can also attend the morning session of Day 
 3 for their 3 Hour training requirement on the new FVIP Rules.  \n\nFebru
 ary 10th: FVIP Basics 1: Joining the Movement to End Family Violence (6 Ho
 urs)\n\nThis training explores the movement to end family violence through
  discussions and activities\, including a review of the history of battere
 r intervention programs in the United States and Georgia. An overview of r
 esearch on the effectiveness of batterer intervention programs will be pro
 vided. The training will conclude with a detailed discussion on the steps 
 and requirements of facilitator certification.   \n\nFebruary 11th: FVIP
  Basics 2: Safety & Accountability (7 Hours)\n\nThis training explores the
  role of victim safety and participant accountability in the work to famil
 y violence intervention programs in Georgia. Explore the concept of accoun
 tability\, discuss to whom are family violence intervention programs accou
 ntable\, and how can we embrace and uphold victim safety as the core of wo
 rk with batterers. The training will include a detailed overview of the ro
 le and requirements of Victim Liaisons.  \n\nFebruary 12th: FVIP Basics 3
 : Participant\, Program & Class Process (7 Hours)\n\nThis training covers 
 updates to the FVIP Rules concerning the entire FVIP process\, from partic
 ipant referral\, to intake and exit procedures\, to class design\, class r
 ules\, facilitation considerations\, class culture and group process\, com
 pliance monitoring and reporting. Attend just the morning session (9 AM - 
 12 PM) to meet the 3 Hour training requirement on the new FVIP Rules\, or 
 stay the whole day to continue in meaningful discussion.  \n\nThis traini
 ng is at capacity\, please check back soon for new training dates!
