 sses or own a Family Violence Intervention Program (FVIP).\n\nUnder the RE
 VISED FVIP Rules 2026\, this session serves as a gateway to the certificat
 ion process for both Facilitators and Program Owners.\n\nPurpose and Requi
 rementsMandatory Entry Point: Attending an Informational Session is requir
 ed before you can enroll in "FVIP Basics\," the primary 14-hour state-deli
 vered training.Background Check Authorization: During the session\, applic
 ants must submit a signed authorization for the Georgia Commission on Fami
 ly Violence (GCFV) to conduct a comprehensive background check.Scope of Ch
 eck: The background check includes criminal history\, the Georgia Protecti
 ve Order Registry\, and Department of Motor Vehicles records. You must rec
 eive approval from this check before proceeding to further training.Traini
 ng Credit: The informational session does not count toward the required tr
 aining or continuing education hours needed for certification.Grandfather 
 Process:  If you have already started the certification process\, you wil
 l receive guidance on how the grandfather process works under the new rule
 s.\n\nFor Prospective Facilitators\n\nAs part of the initial certification
 \, a Facilitator must:Attend the Informational Session.Complete the backgr
 ound check.Enroll in FVIP Basics.\n\nFor Prospective Program Owners (Provi
 ders)\n\nProgram Owners must follow a similar path:Attend the Informationa

 rticipants: If you are court-ordered to attend FVIP classes\, this trainin
 g is not for you\, you must visit gcfv.ga.gov and enroll in a court-ordere
