 st step for individuals seeking state certification to facilitate classes 
 or own a Family Violence Intervention Program (FVIP).\n\nUnder the REVISED
  FVIP Rules 2026\, this session serves as a gateway to the certification p
 rocess for both Facilitators and Program Owners.\n\nPurpose and Requiremen
 tsMandatory Entry Point: Attending an Informational Session is required be
 fore you can enroll in "FVIP Basics\," the primary 14-hour state-delivered
  training.Background Check Authorization: During the session\, applicants 
 must submit a signed authorization for the Georgia Commission on Family Vi
 olence (GCFV) to conduct a comprehensive background check.Scope of Check: 
 The background check includes criminal history\, the Georgia Protective Or
 der Registry\, and Department of Motor Vehicles records. You must receive 
 approval from this check before proceeding to further training.Training Cr
 edit: The informational session does not count toward the required trainin
 g or continuing education hours needed for certification.\n\nFor Prospecti
 ve Facilitators\n\nAs part of the initial certification\, a Facilitator mu
