SUMMARY:Intermediate FVIP Facilitation Skills: Leveraging Group Process and
Classroom Management to Achieve Enhanced Program Outcomes
DESCRIPTION:Family Violence Intervention Program (FVIP) facilitators often
prioritize delivering content designed to engage program participants in a
n introspective\, accountable process with the ultimate goal of reducing i
nstances of harm and increasing safety for survivors of IPV. The process u
sed to reach the learning objectives of the FVIP\, and more specifically\,
classroom management can sometimes be deprioritized and seen as a distrac
tion from how class time should be spent. Instead\, when classroom managem
ent strategies are incorporated into the overall FVIP framework\, they wor
k synergistically with the curriculum to enhance learning outcomes\, parti
cipant accountability\, and enhance safety for all\, inside and outside th
e classroom. In this training\, classroom management will be explored as a
n important component of FVIP that enhances FVIP goals and objectives alon
g with participant experiences. Classroom management will be defined and d
ifferent classroom management approaches will be compared. A mix of small
and large group discussion will be used to explore classroom management st
rategies and to explore training participants' areas of growth. Classroom
management strategies discussed will be applicable in both virtual and in-
person settings.\n\nObjectives:\n\nBy the end of this training\, participa
nts will be better able to:Define classroom managementDescribe their class
room management goalsDraw connections between classroom management and enh
anced program outcomesIdentify an area of growth related to personal class
room management skills in both virtual and in-person environments\n\nRegis
