SUMMARY:Identifying and Responding to Stalking

DESCRIPTION:Stalking is a prevalent\, dangerous and yet\, often a misunders
 tood crime. The Georgia Anti-Stalking Workgroup was created this year to
  improve the statewide response to this crime\, beginning with a year-long
  training initiative.\n\n\n\nPAC is kicking off this initiative with a two
 -day virtual training\, Identifying and Responding to Stalking. Jennifer L
 andhuis\, Director of Stalking Prevention\, Awareness\, and Resource Cent
 er (SPARC)\, will join us for two days to discuss the basics of stalking. 
 After this\, monthly webinars on other stalking-related topics will be pro
 vided throughout the year. Stay tuned!\n\nLet's discuss this training a li
 ttle further | This seminar session will explore the dynamics of stalking
 \, focusing on the highly contextual nature of the crime by discussing com
 mon tactics used for perpetrators\, stalking's co-occurrence with domestic
  and sexual violence\, risk assessment and safety planning\, the use of te
 chnology to stalk as well as tools to plan for victim safety and hold offe

 ntify stalking behaviors and dynamics\n2. Recognize the intersection of st
 alking with other crimes\n3. Identify common technologies misused by stalk
 ers\n4. Identify and discuss the 14 risk factors in stalking cases\n5. Ap
 ply strategies for working with victims of stalking\n\nThis FREE training 
 is specifically designed to bring multidisciplinary teams together. You w
 ill earn up to 5 CLE\, POST\, or Victims' Advocate hours. There is no fe
 e associated with requesting POST or Victim Advocate credit. There is a CL
 E fee. This training has also been approved for FVIP hours.
